Liam M. Collins, the nephew of General Michael Collins, established the firm of Liam M. Collins, Solicitor, in 1943. It quickly established itself as one of West Cork's best known and respected law firms. In the early 1970's Thomas J Brooks joined the practice and in the early 1980s, the firm was renamed Collins Brooks & Associates LLP.
